FACULTY OF SIDDHA MEDICINE TO PARTICIPATE IN AYU PRASADHANI 2026

The Faculty of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna, is pleased to announce its participation in AYU PRASADHANI 2026, which will be held from 6 to 9 November 2026. The Faculty will participate in the exhibition from 7 to 9 November 2026 at the Provincial Ayurveda Hospital, Meegoda, the designated exhibition venue. The event is organized by the Department of Ayurveda, Western Province, and the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo.

The participation is being organised by the Department of Gunapadam and the Siddha Medical Students’ Union, Faculty of Siddha Medicine, with the support and coordination of the University Business Linkage Subcommittee. The Faculty delegation will include Dean Dr. (Mrs.) Viviyan Sathiyaseelan, Faculty Coordinator of the University Business Linkage Subcommittee Dr. (Mrs.) Rakulini Sugeevan, Temporary Demonstrator M. Subaskar, and two students from the 37th BSMS batch, two students from the 39th BSMS batch.
The exhibition will provide a valuable platform for students to present innovative products developed using Siddha knowledge, medicinal plants and traditional formulations. The display will highlight product development, creativity, practical skills, value addition and the potential to translate academic knowledge into sustainable entrepreneurial opportunities. By engaging with visitors, professionals and industry representatives, students will gain exposure to product presentation, communication, market awareness and business development.
This initiative is expected to encourage an entrepreneurial mindset among undergraduates, strengthen university–industry collaboration and help students explore self-employment and future business opportunities. It also aims to demonstrate the relevance of Siddha medicine and traditional knowledge in developing innovative products that respond to contemporary community needs. The Faculty warmly invites visitors and interested stakeholders to visit its stall and learn about the students’ innovations.
