  1. Main Observation

a) Identification of Medicinal Plants

During the field walk, we identified and documented nearly 150 varieties of medicinal plants. We identified their botanical names and plant families, recorded the medicinally used parts, and studied their ecological and medicinal significance in the Siddha healthcare system. We also examined their botanical characteristics, including leaf shapes, flowers, fruits, and bark, as well as their natural habitats.

We observed a wide diversity of plant growth forms, including climbers, tall trees, bushes, shrubs, and creepers, highlighting the rich vegetation and biodiversity of the area During the walk, we observed 18 rare and significant medicinal plant species. We also collected plant materials from Enicostema axillare (வெள்ளறுகு), Curculigo orchoides ( நிலபனை ), and Evolvulus alsinoides  (விஷ்ணுகிராந்தி) for further study.
