The Faculty of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna, successfully conducted a workshop on “Administrative Regulations and Procedures – Faculty of Siddha Medicine” on 04 th May 2026 at 09.30 am to 12.30 pm at the Faculty premises. The programme was organized for the Heads of Departments and non-academic staff members with the objective of enhancing awareness and ensuring the effective implementation of administrative procedures within the Faculty.
The workshop commenced with the welcome address delivered by Dr.(Mrs.)V.Sathiyaseelan, Dean of the Faculty of Siddha Medicine. In her speech,
she emphasized the importance of maintaining an efficient administrative system to support the smooth functioning of academic and institutional activities. Mr. V. Kandeepan, Registrar of the University of Jaffna, served as the resource person for the workshop. During the session, he provided comprehensive explanations on several important administrative matters, including:
Regulations governing faculty administration
Adaptation and implementation of new UGC circulars
Introduction to the E-code system
Duties and responsibilities of non-academic staff
Leave procedures and regulations
Faculty Board procedures and functions
Cadre allocation procedures
The workshop provided an interactive platform for participants to clarify administrative matters and gain updated knowledge regarding university regulations and procedures. The participants expressed that the programme was highly informative and beneficial for improving administrative efficiency within the Faculty.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. I. Thivakaran, Assistant Registrar, who appreciated the valuable contribution of the resource person and the active participation of all attendees.
