The Siddha Medical Camp held on 03 May 2026 at Puthukkudiyiruppu was successfully organized by the Faculty of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna, in collaboration with the Department of Indigenous Medicine, Northern Province, and the Puthukkudiyiruppu Development Forum, with sponsorship from the University of Jaffna Alumni Association – United Kingdom. The camp aimed to provide free Siddha healthcare services, promote awareness of traditional medicine, and improve community health. Various activities such as patient registration, medical consultations, disease diagnosis, distribution of herbal medicines, and awareness programmes on diet and lifestyle were conducted. Treatment was provided for several conditions including fever, asthma, arthritis, sinus-related diseases, and other communicable and non-communicable diseases. The camp benefited a large number of patients and enhanced awareness of Siddha medicine among the public. The experience also improved practical knowledge, communication skills, and teamwork abilities.
