On March 4, 2026, Phase 1 BSMS students participated in an educational visit to the Sri Sachidhanandha Swami Samadhi and Markandu Swami Samadhi in Kaithady. Organized by the Department of Moolathathuvam and guided by Ms. V. Aaraniya and Ms. K. Dushyanthini, the visit aimed to enhance students’ understanding of Siddha medicine heritage and spiritual traditions in Jaffna.
The program focused on exploring the lives and teachings of Siddhars, along with observing religious practices, meditation, and monastic life. At the Sachidhanandha Swami Monastery, students received insights into spiritual discipline, devotion, and community service. They also witnessed pooja rituals, meditation sessions, and explored a mini library containing religious texts.
The visit to Markandu Swami Monastery provided a reflective environment, where students learned about the Swami’s life, teachings, and the monastery’s historical significance. The natural surroundings and simple architecture supported meditation and spiritual learning.
Overall, the visit was a meaningful and enriching experience, offering valuable knowledge on spirituality, cultural practices, and the role of monasteries in society.
