The Jaffna Chapter of the Sri Lankan Society for Microbiology and Subcommittee of Research and Higher Degree Committee of the Unit of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna were Jointly organized two-day seminar on “Pharmacognosy of Edible Herbs”.
The Resource Person Dr. Nithi Kanakaratnam, ND, Melbourne, Australia.
The Seminar for the Siddha Medicine students was held on 11th and 12th March 2023 (9.00 am – 5.00 pm) at Unit of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna. Around 45 BSMS students participated in these two days with free registration. Tea and lunch also provided to these students.
The second seminar for the Allied health students was held on 18th and 19th March 2023 (9.00 am – 5.00 pm) at Faculty of Allied Health sciences, University of Jaffna. Around 40 Allied health students participated in these two days with free registration. Tea and lunch also provided to these students.
These students were obtained a vast knowledge about the edible herbs, its pharmacological action, usage and importance in the traditional medicine.
