  • Siddha Students study visit to Keechankulam on 16.11.2016

    Siddha Medicine students visited Keechankulum, Mullaitivu district to study about the Medicinal plants grown in those areas. This visit was very useful to them to identify many herb grown naturally and to understand their biodiversity.

  • Land for expansion

    The Unit of Siddha Medicine has already submitted proposal for upgrading it as an Institute of Siddha Medicine and it is in progress. Meanwhile the Unit of Siddha Medicine wishes to request you to help us to obtain lands adjacent/in Kaithady to the Unit for its necessary expansion. Those are willing pl contact the Head/Siddha Medicine (021 2057146)

  • Meeting with Traditional Medical Practitioners

    A Meeting was arranged with the assistance of Provincial Department of Indigenous Medicine, Northern Province and met today 18.11.2016, Friday at 2.00 pm at the Unit of Siddha Medicine and discussed about the participation of Traditional Medical Practitioners in the forthcoming National Research Conference and Exhibition – 2017. The meeting was fruitful and more than 24 Traditional practitioners attended the meeting.

  • Siddha Medicos Eve

    The Prize Giving Day of “Siddha Medicos Eve“was held on 19.11.2016, Saturday at 1.30 pm at the Unit of Siddha Medicine.

    Chief Guests – Prof.S.Bavani and Dr Mrs G.Bavani

    The event was colorful and it was celebrated after 6 years. The President and Members of the Siddha Student Association are praised for having such a well organized and charming event.  It has to be noted that the Siddha Medicos week is scheduled in the Calendar of Dates of the Unit of Siddha Medicine for next two years. Therefore it is expected to have such event comfortably in the subsequent years to exhibit the talents of the students.

  • Seminar

    Sri Lankan Society for Microbiologists – Jaffna chapter organized a seminar titled “Extraction techniques in Medicinal Plants” delivered by Dr. (Ms) Shivatharsini Rasalingam, Senior Lecturer in Chemistry, Faculty of Science on 15.11.2016 at 4.00 pm at the Main hall of Unit of Siddha Medicine
